Generell information
Begreppet "fenetylamin" är ett samlingsnamn för alla molekyler som innehåller fenetylaminskelettet. Substituerade fenetylaminer förekommer rikligt hos både växter och djur. Vissa är hallucinogena, andra endast stimulanter. Några fenetylaminer kan framställas från eteriska oljor.
